Roberts County Man Sentenced in Threatening a Judicial Officer Case
PIERRE, S.D – Attorney General Marty Jackley announced today that Eugene H. Paulson, 77, Rosholt, was sentenced to 5 years in prison with all but 180 days suspended and 5 years probation for threatening or intimidating a judicial officer, 2 years in prison with all but 180 days suspended and 2 years probation for offering a false or forged instrument for filing, registering, or recording and 360 days in prison with 180 days suspended for uttering simulated process. All sentences are to run consecutively.

Charges stem from threats made and documents that Paulson attempted to file during the course of a civil proceeding. Paulson was found guilty on these charges by a Brown County jury on February 11, 2014.

This case was investigated by the Roberts County Sheriff’s Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Division of Criminal Investigation and was prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
