Jackson County Man Convicted by Jury for Aggravated Assault and Burglary

 
 
PIERRE, S.D.  –     Attorney General Marty Jackley announced that a Jackson County jury returned a verdict yesterday finding Travis Desersa, 27, Kadoka, guilty of burglary, class 2 felony, punishable by up to 25 years imprisonment and/or a $50,000 fine and aggravated assault, class 3 felony, punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment and/or a $30,000 fine.

Charges stem from an incident on January 15, 2015, where Desersa broke into an apartment in Kadoka and stabbed and seriously injured the victim.

This case was investigated by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and Kadoka Police Department and was prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office. 

Sentencing is scheduled for November 4, 2015 at the Jackson County Courthouse.
