Subject in Brule County Amber Alert Activation to Face Felony Charges in Washington

PIERRE, S.D. –Attorney General Marty Jackley and Brule County States Attorney David Natvig announced that Paul Brown, 38, Maple Valley, WA, the subject of the August 8th Amber Alert is being returned to Washington state to face felony charges.

“The power and the importance of the Amber Alert system and the public were proven with the recovery of the children. The system allows for community support with multiple eyes looking for children in danger and allowing law enforcement to focus their search efforts when time is so vital,” said Jackley.

Jackley and Natvig reported that the successful outcome of the Amber Alert, which resulted in the safe return of the minor children, was the result of the quick response by both the public and law enforcement. The State of South Dakota issued an Amber Alert at approximately 10:11 p.m. This resulted in three tips from the public within ten minutes of the alert being issued identifying the vehicle and license plate matching that of the subject.
