Lyman County Woman Sentenced for Accessory to a Crime

 

PIERRE, S.D.-  Attorney General Marty Jackley announced today Dayna Wells, 28, Oacoma, was sentenced to 5 years with 3 suspended for her role in the stabbing death of Calvin James Shields on September 4, 2015 in Oacoma, S.D.

 

Earlier this year, Whitney Turney had pled guilty to first degree manslaughter and was sentenced to a 25 year penitentiary sentence. 

 

Agencies assisting in this investigation include the Chamberlain Police Department, Brule County Sheriff’s Office, Lyman County Sheriff’s Office, Bureau of Indian Affairs, South Dakota Highway Patrol and the Division of Criminal Investigation.  This case is being prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office and the Lyman County States Attorney.
