RAPID CITY MAN
ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES

The Attorney General’s office announced today that Michael Dennis Weber, 38, of Rapid City was arrested Wednesday on charges relating to the alleged theft of prescription painkillers from two elderly patients. A Pennington County Grand Jury indicted Weber on two counts of Obtaining Possession of a Controlled Substance by Theft. Each count is a class four felony, punishable by a possible ten-year penitentiary sentence and a ten thousand-dollar fine.

Weber is accused of visiting the homes of two acquaintances who recently had surgery and allegedly stealing their prescription pain killers. The case is being investigated by the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation and the Rapid City Police Department, and prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
