Three Inmates Indicted by Grand Jury

Three Inmates Indicted by Grand Jury

(Pierre) – Attorney General Mark Barnett said today that three inmates at the South Dakota State Penitentiary in Sioux Falls have been arrested and charged with various counts after being indicted by a Minnehaha County Grand Jury.

Ramon Lupe Nelson, 34, has been charged with Aggravated Assault, a Class 3 Felony, for an incident that occurred January 16, 2001 at the State Penitentiary involving a prison guard.

Wesley Michael Hyden, 23, has been charged with Possession of Marijuana by an Inmate, a Class 6 Felony, as well as a misdemeanor count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia for an alleged offense occurring on November 18, 2000.

Robert Lewis Braman, Jr., 44, has been charged with two counts of Intentionally Causing Contact with Bodily Fluids or Human Waste, a Class 6 Felony, for alleged sliming offenses occurring on January 4 and January 10, 2001.

No date for arraignment has been set. Assistant Attorney General Paul Cremer is prosecuting the cases for the State.
