Mary Ann Giebink Sentenced

 

PIERRE, S.D. -   Attorney General Marty Jackley and MinnehahaCountyState’s Attorney Aaron McGowan announced today that Mary Ann Giebink, 50, Sioux Falls, entered a plea of guilty to an Information filed in the Second Judicial Circuit, MinnehahaCounty charging her with: Count I Aggravated Eluding – Inherent Risk of Death or Injury; and Count II DWI – Second Offense. Giebink also entered a plea of guilty to a separate Information charging Grand Theft by Embezzlement of Property Received in Trust.
Giebink was sentenced to 8 years in the State Penitentiary for Grand Theft by Embezzlement. The court suspended execution of sentence and ordered Giebink to serve six (6) months in the State Penitentiary. The Court also suspended two (2) years in the penitentiary on the Aggravated Eluding charge and ordered that Giebink serve six (6) months in the State Penitentiary, concurrent to the Grand Theft sentence. The court suspended one (1) year in the CountyJail on the DWI 2nd Offense charge and revoked Giebink’s Driver’s License for a period of one (1) year. Giebink is to report to the Minnehaha County Jail two (2) weeks from today at 5:00 p.m. to be transported to the Women’s Prison.
