Scotland Man Arrested for Felony Child Abuse and Aggravated Assault

 

PIERRE, S.D.-  Attorney General Marty Jackley said today that Chris A. Miller, 37, Scotland, was arrested yesterday on one count of felony child abuse and one count of aggravated assault for a child under 3 years of age. The arrest stemmed from an incident in Scotland on the evening of March 3, 2011. The felony child abuse is a class 3 felony with a maximum penalty of 15 years in the state penitentiary and the aggravated assault for a child under 3 years of age is a class 2 felony with a maximum penalty of 25 years in the state penitentiary.  
 
Miller is presumed innocent until proven guilty. 
 
This case is being investigated by the Division of Criminal Investigation and the Bon Homme County Sheriff’s Office.
