Leidholt served on the executive committee prior to the new position. The South Dakota Sheriffs’ Association is recognizing Leidholt’s accomplishments today at a reception in his honor at the George S. Mickelson Criminal Justice Center in Pierre.“For over 38 years, Sheriff Leidholt has been serving and protecting our communities. South Dakota is very fortunate to have Sheriff Leidholt leading the National Sheriffs’ Association, and we are honored that South Dakota will have a strong voice at the national level,” said Jackley. “The South Dakota Sheriffs’ Association is honored to have one of their own to represent the State at the national level, “ said South Dakota Sheriffs’ Association President Kurt Hall. “It takes an individual with this type of integrity and work ethic to commit himself to this type of position.”
