On Tuesday, September 9, 2014 the Bennett County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 5:00 a.m.(MDT) that a subject was lying on the side of the road on Hwy 18, mm 173, approximately 20 miles east Martin, SD. The Bennett County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and found that Cody White Pipe appeared to have been struck by a vehicle. White Pipe later died from his injuries. The Bennett County Sheriff’s Office and the Division of Criminal Investigation is requesting assistance in identifying the vehicle and person(s) involved in this fatal hit and run accident. It is believed that this accident occurred during the early morning hours of September 9, 2014.
