Lyman County Man Sentenced for Manslaughter in Infant Death

PIERRE, S.D. –  Attorney General Marty Jackley and Lyman County States Attorney Steve Smith confirm that Gerald Raymond Brink, 38, Vivian, was sentenced to 50 years in prison with 10 suspended on one count of manslaughter in the first degree. 

 

The charge stemmed from an incident in Vivian on the evening of Thursday May 4th, 2017, resulting in the death of his 7-week old daughter Neveah Brink. Neveah presented to medical personnel with intracranial bleeding and four separate, unrelated skull fractures.  

 

This case was investigated by the Lyman County Sheriff’s Office and the Division of Criminal Investigation and prosecuted by the Lyman County States Attorney and the Attorney General’s Office.
