Senior Fraud Days
(Pierre) – Chief Deputy Attorney General Larry Long will join other state experts to help South Dakota seniors from becoming the victims of scam artists.
Long will be a featured speaker at Senior Fraud Days. Fraud Days will be held in Sioux Falls at the Convention Center on Tuesday, June 18, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Senior Fraud Days is sponsored by the Senior Fraud Patrol Program. The goal of Fraud Days is to raise awareness and educate seniors on issues specific to them. Throughout the day, a series of featured speakers will give hour long presentations.
Long will be speaking on current scams surfacing in the state. Specifically, he will offer tips for avoiding sweepstakes and telemarketing scams. Other topics to be discussed on Tuesday include elder abuse, predatory lending, and identity theft.
Fraud Days was also held in Rapid City this month.
