Sioux Falls Police Department to Receive Money for Surveillance and Protective Equipment
PIERRE, S.D - Attorney General Marty Jackley announced today that the Sioux Falls Police Department has been awarded $32,852 to purchase surveillance and protective equipment to be used in drug investigations. The money was awarded out of the Drug Control Fund. The award will assist local law enforcement in drug control and apprehension purposes.
“The Drug Control Fund has been an excellent resource for our department and we appreciate the support that we have received from the Attorney General. We are pleased with the opportunity to use these proceeds to further our mission of keeping drugs off the streets,” said Chief Doug Barthel.
“The Drug Control Fund was created for exactly this type of expenditure to assist law enforcement in protecting our communities from monies taken from criminal activity,” said Jackley.
