Custer County Sheriff’s Office to Receive Money for Digital Cameras from Drug Control Fund

PIERRE, S.D  -  Attorney General Marty Jackley announced today that the Custer County Sheriff’s Office  has been awarded $12,810  to purchase digital cameras and camera kits to be used in drug investigations. The money was awarded out of the Drug Control Fund. The award will assist local law enforcement in drug control and apprehension purposes.
“Our agency is grateful for the drug control fund, which allows small counties like ours to make these types of purchases. Illegal drug activity is present in Custer County, but many times we do not have money in our budget to cover these needed expenditures. These types of purchases allow us to build stronger cases and make our communities much safer,” said Custer County Sheriff Rick Wheeler.

“The Drug Control Fund was created for exactly this type of expenditure to assist law enforcement in protecting our communities from monies taken from criminal activity,” said Jackley.
