Rapid City Officer Involved Shooting Summary Released

 
PIERRE, S.D – Attorney General Marty Jackley and the Division of Criminal Investigation today released the summary into the shooting of Harold Murphy on June 4, 2014, in Rapid City, South Dakota.
The Division of Criminal Investigation conducted the investigation at the request of the Rapid City Police Department.

The incident occurred on June 4, 2014, following an attempted traffic stop on West Main in Rapid City. “It is the conclusion of this report and the Attorney General that Officer Jerrell Lewellen was justified in firing his weapon and using lethal force,” stated Attorney General Jackley.

The Attorney General would like to thank the Rapid City Police Department and the Officers for their service and complete cooperation in this investigation.
