Gann Valley Women Sentenced to 130 Years in Death of Toddler
PIERRE, S.D – Attorney General Marty Jackley and Brule County States Attorney David Natvig announced today that Donika Gonzales, 23, Gann Valley, was sentenced to 130 years for first degree manslaughter and 15 years for aggravated assault, both sentences to run concurrently.
Charges stemmed from severe physical abuse over a period of time, which escalated on February 21, 2013, resulting in the death of a 4 year-old child.
This case was investigated by the Buffalo County Sheriff Wayne Willman and the Division of Criminal Investigation and prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office and the Brule County States Attorney.
