He was arrested on three outstanding warrants, with additional charges pending. Outstanding warrants include intentional damage to property, failure to appear or report felony and driving with a suspended license. Turner's criminal history further includes a conviction for aggravated assault in 1997 where he was sentenced to 7 years at the state penitentiary. Turner is presumed innocent until such time is proven guilty. Turner did not receive any injuries from the gunfire during the officer involved shooting incident from earlier this morning.At the completion of the investigation, the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation will issue a case report and shooting summation to be reviewed by the Attorney General for a final determination on the officers’ action. The release of the summary report is anticipated within 30 days.
