Hall was working as resident hired man on a Hyde County ranch at the time of the thefts. Hall was representing his employer’s livestock as his own and selling calves through Craig’s List and an area sale barn. The calves were not branded. Investigators were able to recover 27 head of the stolen cattle. The case was investigated by the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, Hyde County Sheriff’s Office and South Dakota Brand Board and prosecuted by the Hyde County States Attorney’s Office.
