Charges Filed in Yankton Officer Involved Shooting Incident


PIERRE, S.D –   Attorney General Marty Jackley and Yankton County States Attorney Rob Klimisch confirm that a criminal complaint has been filed charging Trae Allen Angel, 19, Yankton, with for 4 counts of attempted murder, class 2 felony, punishable by up to 25 years imprisonment and/or $50,000 fine, 4 counts of aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer, class 2 felony, punishable by up to 25 years imprisonment and/or $50,000 fine and 1 count of aggravated assault, class 3 felony, punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment and/or $30,000 fine.
All charges stem from the officer involved shooting incident that occurred last evening in Yankton, S.D.
Angel is presumed innocent until such time as proven guilty.
This case is being prosecuted by the Yankton County States Attorney’s Office.
