Gregory County Man Indicted in Second Degree Manslaughter Case
PIERRE, S.D - Attorney General Marty Jackley announced today that Herris Gene Lambley, 77, Herrick, has been indicted by a Gregory County Grand Jury. Lambley was indicted on one count of second degree manslaughter, class 4 felony, punishable by up to 10 years in the state penitentiary and/ or $20,000 fine, one count of reckless driving, class 1 misdemeanor, one count stop sign violation, class 2 misdemeanor and one count seat belt violation, petty offense.
Charges stem from an incident that involved a vehicle crash that resulted in the death of Steven Wheeler.
Lambley is presumed innocent until such time as proven guilty.
This case was investigated by Gregory County Sheriff’s Office and South Dakota Highway Patrol and being prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
