PIERRE, S.D. – Attorney General Marty Jackley and the Division of Criminal Investigation today released the summary into the shooting of Trae Angel on September 1, 2015, in Yankton, South Dakota. The Division of Criminal Investigation conducted the investigation at the request of the Yankton Police Department.

The incident occurred on September 1, 2015, following a report of an assault at a Yankton residence. “It is my conclusion as Attorney General that Officer Jason Foote was justified in firing his weapon and using lethal force. I would like to thank the Yankton Police Department and the Officer for their service and complete cooperation in this investigation,” stated Attorney General Jackley.
