Black Hawk Man Pleads to 1st Degree Manslaughter in Death of Infant


PIERRE, S.D.-  Attorney General Marty Jackley and Meade County States Attorney Kevin Krull announced that Thomas James Pentecost, 29, Black Hawk, entered a plea of guilty today to first degree manslaughter, class C felony, carrying a possible sentence of up to life imprisonment in the state penitentiary and/or $50,000 fine.

Charges stem from activities arising from an incident of abuse on April 19, 2015, resulting in the death of a 21 month-old child. 

Sentencing is scheduled for January 29th at 1:30 p.m. (MST) at the Meade County Courthouse.
