Nine South Dakota Women’s Prison Inmates Indicted on Drug Related Charges

Nine South Dakota Women’s Prison Inmates Indicted on Drug Related Charges


PIERRE S.D. - Attorney General Marty Jackley announced today that several inmates in the South Dakota Woman’s Prison were indicted by a Hughes County grand jury on drug related charges.
“Recognizing our prison system’s duel role of punishment with the opportunity for rehabilitation, inmates are expected to follow the prison rules and the law. I want to thank the prison officials and staff for their assistance and full cooperation during this investigation,” said Jackley.
The indictments are as followed:
Priscilla Black Spotted Horse, 38
-one count of distribution of a controlled substance and aiding and abetting, methamphetamine, class 4 felony, punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment and/or $20,000 fine
-one count ingestion of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, class 5 felony, punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment and/or $10,000 fine
-one count of delivery of unauthorized contraband or article to an inmate and aiding and abetting, class 6 felony, punishable by up to 2 years imprisonment and/or $4,000 fine

Brittany Lee Aguilar, 24
-one count of distribution of a controlled substance and aiding and abetting, methamphetamine, class 4 felony, punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment and/or $20,000 fine
-one count ingestion of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, class 5 felony, punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment and/or $10,000 fine
-one count of delivery of unauthorized contraband or article to an inmate and aiding and abetting, class 6 felony, punishable by up to 2 years imprisonment and/or $4,000 fine

Loretta Ann Flute, 33
-one count ingestion of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, class 5 felony, punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment and/or $10,000 fine

Shauntel Lashay Shangreaux, 21
-one count ingestion of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, class 5 felony, punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment and/or $10,000 fine

 

Dawn Carla Mesteth, 39
-one count ingestion of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, class 5 felony, punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment and/or $10,000 fine

Michaela Rae Mousseau, 36
-one count ingestion of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, class 5 felony, punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment and/or $10,000 fine

Sylvia Elizabeth Bordeaux, 29
-one count ingestion of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, class 5 felony, punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment and/or $10,000 fine

Mary Francis Sierra, 26
-one count ingestion of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, class 5 felony, punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment and/or $10,000 fine

Cassandra Louise Bernard, 36
-one count ingestion of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, class 5 felony, punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment and/or $10,000 fine

The indictment charges that on or about between November 3 and November 4, 2015, Black Spotted Horse and Aguilar delivered and distributed methamphetamine to inmates Flute, Shangreaux, Mesteth, Mousseau, Bordeaux, Sierra and Bernard at the South Dakota Women’s Prison and they were all subsequently indicted on ingestion charges based on drug testing done by the South Dakota Health Laboratory. 

These individuals are presumed innocent until such time as proven guilty.

This case is being investigated by the Division of Criminal Investigation and prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
