PIERRE, S.D.-    Attorney General Marty Jackley and Lawrence County States Attorney John Fitzgerald announced today that Chad Lucas Cordell, 31,  Vale, was indicted by a Lawrence County Grand Jury on one count of grand theft, class 4 felony, punishable by up to 10 years in the state penitentiary and/or $10,000 fine.

Charges stem from monies taken while Cordell was employed for the South Dakota Brand Board. 

Cordell is presumed innocent until such time as proven guilty.

The investigation is being conducted by the Division of Criminal Investigation.
