PIERRE, S.D. – Attorney General Marty Jackley, Beadle County States Attorney Mike Moore and Jerauld County States Attorney Dedrich Koch announced today that two individuals were arrested as a result of search warrants served in Huron and Alpena on the morning of Monday, December 5, 2016.
Justin Connerley, 32, Huron
- one count of unauthorized manufacture of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, class 4 felony, punishable by up to 10 years in the state penitentiary and/or $20,00 fine
- one count of violation of drug free zone, class 4 felony, 5 year mandatory sentence
- one count of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, class 5 felony, punishable by up to 5 years in the state penitentiary and/or $10,000
- one count of keeping a place for use or sale of controlled substance, methamphetamine, class 5 felony, punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment and/or $10,000
Jason Kerlin, 35, Alpena
- one count of unauthorized manufacture of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, class 4 felony, punishable by up to 10 years in the state penitentiary and/or $20,00 fine
- one count of violation of drug free zone, class 4 felony, 5 year mandatory sentence
- one count of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, class 5 felony, punishable by up to 5 years in the state penitentiary and/or $10,000
- one count of keeping a place for use or sale of controlled substance, methamphetamine, class 5 felony, punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment and/or $10,000
Connerley and Kerlin are presumed innocent until such time as proven guilty.
Agencies assisting in these warrants were the Huron Police Department, Jerauld County Sheriff’s Office, Sanborn County Sheriff’s Office, Huron Fire Department/EMTs, Alpena Fire Department/EMTS, Mitchell Police Department, South Dakota Highway Patrol and the Division of Criminal Investigation.
