Davison County Man Arrested on Possession and Possession with Intent to Distribute

PIERRE, S.D. –  Attorney General Marty Jackley announced today that the Mitchell Police Department and the Division of Criminal Investigation have arrested Jacob Davin Hubbs, 20, Mitchell, as a result of a search warrant served in Mitchell on Monday, April 24, 2017. Over 1,000 fentanyl pills and $11,000 were seized.


Hubbs is charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance, fentanyl, class 5 felony, punishable by up to 5 years in the state penitentiary and/or $10,000 fine, one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, fentanyl, class 4 felony, punishable by up to 10 years in the state penitentiary and/or $20,000 fine and one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute in a drug free zone, class 4 felony, punishable by up to 10 years in the state penitentiary and/or $20,000 fine.


Hubbs is presumed innocent until such time as proven guilty.


Agencies assisting in this investigation include the Mitchell Police Department, Brookings Police Department, Watertown Police Department, Yankton Police Department, James Valley Drug Task Force, Sioux Falls Drug Task Force, South Dakota Highway Patrol and the Division of Criminal Investigation. This case is being prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
