PIERRE, S.D. – Attorney General Marty Jackley and Marshall County States Attorney Dana Frohling announced today that a Marshall County grand jury has indicted Chance Alan Severson, 27, Britton, charging him with 1 count of first degree rape, class C felony, punishable by up to life imprisonment and/or $50,000 fine, and three counts of fourth degree rape, class 3 felony, punishable by up to 15 years and/or $30,000 fine.

Severson is presumed innocent until such time as proven guilty.
 
This case is being investigated by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and the Division of Criminal Investigation Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and prosecuted by the Marshall County States Attorney and the Attorney General’s Office.
