Custer Woman Arrested for Threatening Local Law Enforcement with Gun

PIERRE, S.D.- Barbara L. Plooster, 45, of Custer was arrested on September 20, 2009, on charges of aggravated assault. On September 20, 2009, two Custer County deputies were dispatched to Plooster’s residence in Custer for a welfare check. During the contact, Plooster had in her possession a firearm. Four rounds were eventually fired from a Deputy’s weapon during the incident. The incident resolved with no one injured and the suspect taken into custody.  

The case remains under investigation with the Division of Criminal Investigation and the Custer County Sheriff’s Office.
