Marshall County Men Indicted on Multiple Sexual Abuse Charges

PIERRE, S.D. – Attorney General Marty Jackley and Marshall County States Attorney Dana Frohling announced today that five Marshall county men have been indicted by a Marshall County Grand jury on multiple sexual abuse charges.

Damon Daniel Koop, 21, Britton

  • six counts of possession of child pornography, class 4 felony, punishable by up to 10 years and/or $20,000 fine
  • five counts of solicitation of a minor, class 4 felony, punishable by up to 10  years in the state penitentiary and/or $20,000 fine 

Luis Alberto Maaz, 26, Britton

  • one count of 4th degree rape, class 3 felony, punishable by up to 15 years in the state penitentiary and/or $30,000 fine
  • one count of possession of child pornography, class 4 felony, punishable by up to 10 years and/or $20,000 fine
  • three counts of solicitation of a minor, class 4 felony, punishable by up to 10  years in the state penitentiary and/or $20,000 fine 

Michael Joseph Mejilla, 19, Britton

  • four counts of 4th degree rape, class 3 felony, punishable by up to 15 years in the state penitentiary and/or $30,000 fine
  • three counts of solicitation of a minor, class 4 felony, punishable by up to 10  years in the state penitentiary and/or $20,000 fine 

 

Dustin Michael Purcell, 28, Britton

  • one count of 4th degree rape, class 3 felony, punishable by up to 15 years in the state penitentiary and/or $30,000 fine
  • seven counts of possession of child pornography, class 4 felony, punishable by up to 10 years and/or $20,000 fine

 

Edgar Adoneas Ramos, 28, Britton

 

  • three counts of 4th degree rape, class 3 felony, punishable by up to 15 years in the state penitentiary and/or $30,000 fine
  • two counts of solicitation of a minor, class 4 felony, punishable by up to 10 years in the state penitentiary and/or $20,000



These individuals are presumed innocent until such time as proven guilty.
 
This case is being investigated by the Division of Criminal Investigation Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by the Marshall County States Attorney and the Attorney General’s Office.
