Salgado Indicted on Murder Charges  

PIERRE, S.D.-   Attorney General Marty Jackley and Hanson County States Attorney James Davies announced today that Alexander Salgado, 20, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, was indicted today by a Hanson County Grand Jury. Salgado was indicted on one count of first degree murder, one count of felony murder and one county of first degree arson. The indictment charges that Salgado murdered Jasmine Guevara on November 10, 2009. 

Salgado is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The investigation is being conducted by the Division of Criminal Investigation, Hanson County Sheriff’s Office and the Mitchell Police Department. The Attorney General’s Office and the Hanson County States Attorney’s Office are prosecuting the case.

The preliminary hearing which was scheduled in this case has been cancelled.
