PIERRE, S.D.  –   Attorney General Marty Jackley confirms that State Penitentiary inmate Albaro Picotte, 32, was sentenced earlier this week for unauthorized ingestion of a controlled drug or substance, methamphetamine.
For the ingestion charge, Picotte was sentenced to 8 years with 5 suspended, which will run concurrent to his current sentence. On December 11, 2017, Correctional Officers urine tested Picotte and he tested positive for methamphetamine.
This case was investigated by Special Security at the State and prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
