PIERRE, S.D. –  Attorney General Marty Jackley confirms the South Dakota Supreme Court’s denial of a stay for Rodney Berget’s execution has been appealed to the United States Supreme Court. The State of South Dakota has filed its response objecting to the Petition and any stay of proceedings.

Attorney General Jackley remains in contact with the United States Supreme Court and is anticipating direction from the United States Supreme Court yet today.
