Jennifer Ladd Convicted of 1st Degree Manslaughter 

PIERRE, S.D.-   Attorney General Marty Jackley announces today the conviction of Jennifer Ladd, 37, for the 2009 death of her boyfriend, Louis Fast Horse. Ladd was convicted of 1st Degree Manslaughter, which carries a maximum possible penalty of life imprisonment, following a five day jury trial in Charles Mix County. A Pre-Sentence Investigation was ordered by the court and the sentencing date is April 23, 2010.  The case was investigated by the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation and the Charles Mix Sheriff’s Office. This case was prosecuted by Deputy Attorney General Bob Mayer and Charles Mix County State’s Attorney Pam Heim.
