SELF-INFLICTED SHOOTING DURING HURON INVESTIGATION 

PIERRE, S.D.-   Attorney General Marty Jackley confirms that in Huron late this afternoon, during the course of an investigation, a party of interest has suffered a self-inflicted shooting injury. This ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Huron Police Department, the Beadle County Sheriff’s Office and the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation. The Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office is providing further assistance in regard to the shooting.

PIERRE, S.D.-   Attorney General Marty Jackley has further confirmed that the individual involved in the shooting earlier this afternoon has been identified as Robert Sherwood of Huron, SD. Sherwood was pronounced dead at the Huron Regional Medical Center this evening.

PIERRE, S.D.-   Attorney General Marty Jackley confirmed today that the death in the Huron investigation was the result of a single self-inflicted gunshot wound. The investigation remains ongoing.
