UPDATE TO SELF-INFLICTED SHOOTING DURING HURON INVESTIGATION

PIERRE, S.D.-   Attorney General Marty Jackley confirms that Dr. Robert Sherwood, a Huron pediatrician, was recently being investigated for allegations of sexual contact crimes with young victims. When law enforcement attempted to contact Dr. Sherwood during a traffic stop, the subject took his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot.  Parents with further concerns of the sexual contact allegations are asked to contact Detective Gene Miller of the Huron Police Department. Referral services are available if needed.
