Arrest Made in Bennett County Stabbing
PIERRE, S.D.- Attorney General Marty Jackley said today that in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 22nd a stabbing occurred in rural Bennett County. The victim in the stabbing was identified as Mary Ellen Red Cloud, 19, Pine Ridge. She suffered a fatal stab wound that resulted in her death. The Division of Criminal Investigation was called to assist the Bennett County Sheriff's Office in the investigation. Clency N. Pulido, 26, Martin, has been arrested in relation to the incident. Pulido was arrested in Hay Springs, Nebraska for 2nd degree murder and is currently being held in Sheridan County in Rushville, Nebraska. Pulido is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
The following agencies were integral in the investigation: Martin Police Department, Bennett County Sheriff’s Office, BIA, Pine Ridge Tribal Police, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Sheridan County NE Sheriff’s Office and the Nebraska State Patrol.
