Yankton Man Sentenced in Child Pornography Case
PIERRE, S.D. - Attorney General Larry Long said today that Donald Edward Freidel, 77, Yankton, was sentenced to four consecutive ten year sentences in prison, on four counts of child pornography. Freidel was convicted of molesting children in Colorado in 1981, and again in Yankton in 1993. Today’s sentencing by Circuit Court Judge Glen Eng gave Freidel what may amount to a life sentence, since Freidel is now 77 years old.
The case was prosecuted by Chief Deputy Attorney General Mark Barnett and Assistant Attorney General Todd Love, in cooperation with the Yankton County States Attorney’s Office.
