South Dakota Team Heading to National Amber Alert Training Conference

SOUTH DAKOTA TEAM HEADING TO NATIONAL AMBER ALERT TRAINING CONFERENCE

(Pierre) – Attorney General Larry Long announced today that a four person team from South Dakota will attend a National Training Conference on AMBER Alert in Texas this week. The conference has been designed for a four-member AMBER Alert Plan “team” from each state, territory and the District of Columbia. The South Dakota team is: AMBER Plan Coordinator, Wayne-Hayden; Department of Transportation/highway safety, John Forman; Division of Criminal Investigation, Bonnie Feller Hagen and KDLT Executive Producer, Brooke Bohnenkamp. 

This National Training Conference on AMBER Alert is designed to: increase awareness about the scope of missing and abducted children issues; improve understanding about how the AMBER Alert plan can contribute to the safety and recovery of missing children at the local, state and regional levels; improve collaboration and networking at the local, state and regional level to protect children and improve ability of law enforcement agencies and their partners from the broadcast industry and transportation areas to work together to insure effective response to child abductions.
