MEDIA ADVISORY: SOUTH DAKOTA D.A.R.E OFFICERS TO RECIEVE NEW CURRICULUM
(Pierre)– The South Dakota D.A.R.E. Officers Conference will take place at the Kings Inn, in Pierre on July 24th and 25th, beginning at 1:00 pm. This year’s conference will be unique from those in the past due to exciting changes in the curriculum. This will be the first look the South Dakota officers will have at the changes in the teaching style and the length of the new program.
“The old program made it difficult to get instructors certified for the middle schools,” said Attorney General Larry Long. “The new curriculum will allow for a greater expansion into the middle schools across the state and this is something that both parents and schools have been asking about for sometime.”
The 80 officers throughout the state will be attending the two day conference and will complete the first step in training under the new curriculum.
