RAPID CITY OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING REPORT RELEASED

(Pierre) – The Division of Criminal Investigation today released the incident report following the investigation into the fatal shooting of Allan F. Liberty Jr. as requested by the Rapid City Police Department.

The Division of Criminal Investigation, assisted by the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office immediately conducted the investigation into the officer involved shooting incident on April 18, 2003, and the report concludes that Officer O’Bryan followed Rapid City Police Department Policy regarding use of force and was justified in firing his weapon.
