(Pierre) – Attorney General Larry Long is warning South Dakotans about advance fee loan or grant scams targeting South Dakota farmers and ranchers. 

“Any up front payment is a flag for a scam,” said Long. “Beware of anyone asking for an immediate wire transfer. Consumers who fall for this may lose their entire up-front payment.” 

If you have been a victim or have any questions about advance fee loan offers contact the Division of Consumer Protection at 1-800-300-1986 before sending money to advance-fee “lenders.”
