Openness Government Task Force to Meet in Pierre

PIERRE, S.D.- Attorney General Larry Long said today the next Openness Government Task Force meeting will be held in Pierre on August 15, at 1:00 p.m. at the George S. Mickelson Criminal Justice Center, 1302 E. Hwy 14 and is open to the public.

Long created the Openness Government Task Force in the fall of 2002 to help identify areas of concern in the open records and open meeting laws in South Dakota. The task force is made up of about 40 individuals from across the state representing media, law enforcement, local government, education, state government, private business and the public. At this meeting the task force will begin to review Attorney General Long’s public record report.
