Former Rapid City Police Office Sentenced in Embezzlement Case
PIERRE, S.D. - Attorney General Larry Long said today that Brent L. Nelson, 46, Rapid City, was sentenced today in 7th Circuit Court to 10 years with 8 years suspended at the South Dakota State Penitentiary. Nelson pled guilty to one count of Grand Theft by Embezzlement on December 5th. The plea stemmed from the theft of funds from the Rapid City Peace Officers’ Association.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant Attorney General Heidi Linngren.
