Sully County States Attorney Appointed to the Open Meeting Commission
PIERRE, S.D.- Attorney General Larry Long announced today the appointment of Emily Sovell to the Open Meetings Commission. Sovell currently serves as the Sully County States Attorney, Deputy States Attorney for Hyde County and the City Attorney for Onida, Gettysburg, Faulkton, Harrold and Highmore.
“I’m delighted Ms. Sovell has agreed to take on this important responsibility,” said Long. “I am sure that her experience as states attorney and city attorney will bring a new perspective to the Open Meetings Commission.”
Sovell replaces Vaughn Beck of Edmunds County. Beck has been part of the commission since it’s inception in 2004.
