Update on Sioux Falls Officer Involved Shooting

 

PIERRE, S.D.-   Attorney General Marty Jackley confirms that on Friday, August 13, 2010, Thomas Clair Webster, 55, Sioux Falls, died as a result of a shooting that occurred while Deputies from the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office attempted to serve a warrant. Reports indicate that Webster was drawing a weapon as the Deputies approached him.  An autopsy has been conducted and the investigation is ongoing. A shooting summary will be released upon the completion of the investigation. The Attorney General’s Office has been advised that the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office will be returning the Deputies to normal duty next week. This case is being investigated by the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation.
