PIERRE, S.D.- Attorney General Marty Jackley announced that John Graham was sentenced today to a mandatory life penitentiary sentence without parole. On December 10, 2010, a Pennington County Jury found Graham guilty of the 1975 felony murder kidnapping of Annie Mae Aquash.

 

“The callous disregard for human life shown during this kidnapping and execution style murder, combined with the lack of remorse by Graham, justifies a sentence of this severity,” said Jackley. “Graham’s jury conviction would not have been possible without the cooperative effort over the last 35 years of state, federal, local and tribal law enforcement, and a very patient and determined family of Annie Mae Aquash.”
