PIERRE, S.D – Attorney General Marty Jackley confirms that the Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating the incident at the State Penitentiary this morning that resulted in the death of Correction Officer Ronald Johnson. The Attorney General’s Office anticipates providing further information about the case once the initial investigation and charging decisions are complete.
The Attorney General’s Office extends its thoughts and prayers to Officer Johnson’s family and loved ones.
