PIERRE, S.D – Attorney General Marty Jackley announced today that Division of Criminal Investigation has organized a search for the body of Andrew Jon Lufkins, 23, Sisseton. Lufkins was reported missing on April 7, 2010. He was last seen on foot wearing khaki pants, a dark colored sweatshirt with South Pole lettering on the front, a dark undershirt and a pair of blue and white shoes.
The search will take place today at Tekawitha Dam and a section of water in Dry Wood Lake along Dry Wood Lake road, both of which are located in Roberts County.
Agencies assisting in the search are the Codington County Search and Rescue Team, Codington County K-9 team, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Roberts County Sheriff’s Office, Sisseton Police Department, Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Police Department, South Dakota Game Fish and Parks and the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding Lufkins is asked to contact the Roberts County Dispatch Center at 605-698-7667.
