The South Dakota Network Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault and the Compass Center Announce Partnerships with Verizon for Youth Education Programs
Attorney General Marty Jackley to Take Part in Presentation
PIERRE, S.D. – Attorney General Marty Jackley will announce two grants totaling $30,000 from the Verizon Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Verizon, to the South Dakota Network Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault (The Network) and to The Compass Center in Sioux Falls. Both grants will be used for teen education and prevention programs within South Dakota.

BACKGROUND: In an effort to prevent teen dating violence, domestic violence and bullying, agencies in South Dakota are stepping up prevention education efforts. The Network will expand a campaign initiated in 2010 by partnering with twenty domestic violence agencies throughout South Dakota to provide domestic violence prevention, education and awareness presentations to public, private and tribal school children. In addition, The Compass Center will provide teen dating violence prevention education in partnership with area churches, service organizations, colleges and universities in the greater Sioux Falls area.
