North Dakota Man Arrested on Grant County Fraud Charges

PIERRE, S.D.  – Attorney General Marty Jackley said today that Dennis Lee Burton, 63, West Fargo, North Dakota has been arrested by the Sioux Falls Area Fugitive Task Force. Burton was charged by complaint in January 2011 for one count of grand theft by deception. This offense is a class 4 felony, punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment and/or a $20,000 fine. Burton is presumed innocent until such time as proven guilty. His initial appearance is scheduled for January 3, 2012 in Grant County.

This case is being investigated by the Department of Revenue and the Division of Criminal Investigation and is being prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office. Anyone with any additional information regarding Burton is encouraged to call the Attorney General’s Office at 605-773-3215.
